⛽ Fuel Finder

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 March 2026

Fuel Finder ("the app", "we", "us") is a free Android application that helps UK drivers find petrol and diesel prices and EV charging points near them.

This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We have designed the app to collect as little data as possible.

1. What data we collect

1.1 Location

Location is only accessed when the app is open and in the foreground. We do not collect background location.

1.2 Push notification token

If you enable price alerts, the app registers a device token with Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM, see §3). This token is stored in our Supabase database alongside your home postcode coordinates (if set) so we can send you price alerts. The token is a random identifier and does not contain any personal information. It can be deleted by disabling alerts in the app.

1.3 Home postcode

If you enter a home postcode in Settings, the app converts it to latitude/longitude coordinates using the postcodes.io API and stores those coordinates in our Supabase database linked to your push notification token. The raw postcode text is stored on your device only; only the coordinates are sent to the server.

1.4 App preferences

Your settings (preferred fuel type, tank size, fuel efficiency, theme, map style, widget mode) are stored locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences. They are never uploaded to our servers.

2. What we do NOT collect

3. Third-party services

8. Legal basis (UK GDPR)
